Powered speakers not waking up after auto-standby

The Q Acoustics M20 goes to standby after no sound is detected for 20 min. This is a default behavior, similar to many powered speakers - based on EU regulations.

That’s all good. But on the M20s that function can’t be shut off or bypassed, and the speakers don’t come back on from standby automatically when sound is played.

I have to turn them back on manually. Not just that. I have to adjust the volume every time as it forgets its volume settings when it goes to standby.

I like the speakers otherwise but in the way I use them, this behavior is really annoying!

I was wondering if I could get advice on how to trigger the M20s to come back on when they sense sound, or at least how I can bypass its auto-standby and have them always on.

I should mention that I use the M20s as wireless (WiFi) remotes/rears at the other end of the same large space the mains are in. They’re on an elevated platform I can’t easily reach, and they’re connected to a WiiM mini. There’s a sweet spot where the balance between the volume of the mains and the M20s is just right - I can set the volumes and volume limits on the Wiims but that only works if the M20s keep a set volume.

Also, I use the Wiim’s wake-up alarm feature but of course like it is now I’d never wake up as the M20s don’t come on.

Has anyone else here dealt with the same issue - I can’t imagine being the only one annoyed with that. Did you find a solution, a work-around?

Thanks!

Maybe I am the only one here having this issue? Or maybe there’s no good solution for this problem?
That sucks! It’s the second speaker that doesn’t work for me (the KEF LSX gen-1 was definitely worse though).

I may try a powered USB hub (more gear, more wires, the opposite of what I wanted) and see if that bypasses the auto-standby.
In any case, I may have to look for yet another pair of speakers. But who knows what problems they will have. I lost faith.
And I’m just tired of loosing money and time. Why is this so difficult? Is what I try to do so unusual?

if anyone has a good idea how I could bypass the standby or make them waking up when sound is played, please let me know.
And if someone can recommend a speaker that works for my setup and intended use, please do share!
