Wifi receiver transmitter kits
I just got a set of W3s for a third their retail price and want to give it a go.  Now it’s about picking decent powered or active speakers.  Any suggestions?  I’m torn about getting a used pair of KEF LSX or LS50. Reviews about their stellar soun...
Wifi receiver transmitter kits
I'm aware that there's still no adequate wireless solution that can compete with wired separates in sound quality. There are limits... but since I'm hooked to some of the convenience of streaming, my aim is to get at least a decent experience, wit...

Thank you, ellajeanelle!    Looks interesting! One of these transmitters would probably do. But do I need one receiver per speaker (e.g. two for stereo) in the other room? And does this require and come with a proprietary app? I wonder if for t...
Recommendations for good WiFi speakers
Has anyone experience with converting powered speakers to wireless?

Can we continue that conversation now that the budget of max $600/pair has been clarified? Any more recommendations for WiFi speakers? In addition I’d like to hear from folks who had experiences with making powered speakers into WiFi speakers. Lo...
Using Wiim as a timer/alarm clock, triggering the whole system
I just came across the Emotiva ET-3. Not sure if that could do the trick?  Can it do what I want? Can I use the Wiim’s timer/alarm to trigger the other receivers to turn on/off with this?

No intentions to play guessing or waste anyone’s anything, soix. Needed to get an idea what the range is, otherwise, well… I’m just guessing. But fair enough - here it is: max $600/paiir.

Yep. Rialto by Cabasse. Great suggestion. Thank you.  But with the 4 grand price tag, that will have to wait until I hit the jackpot.  Meanwhile, something more affordable will have to do for the second set of speakers.
Recommendations for good WiFi speakers
I come across very mixed reviews for the KEF LSX and LS50: complaints about tears, dings and dents to the outer membrane; nearfield but not suited for large spaces; no controls on the actual speakers; but also: incredible clear and detailed sound;...

Budget? It depends what’s out there. It’s the secondary set, kinda, so I don’t want to spend too much.  WiFi probably limits the choices.  The LS50 and LSX certainly peeked my interest. My experiences with KEF are mixed. Happy with the Q500s but...
Using Wiim as a timer/alarm clock, triggering the whole system
Thank you, Itmandella. There is a wake-up/sleep timer function in the Wiim app that turns the Wiim on and plays whatever music service and playlist you pick.  What I was looking for was something that turns on my receiver, when the Wiim turns on...
Adding wireless speakers to my current, vintage analog system.

Adding wireless speakers to my current, vintage analog system.
I was able to clarify one thing, with help from some nice folks over at AK. I think what I didn’t realize was that the 192/24 “limitation” only applies to some of the local/physical inputs, and not when music is streamed from the “cloud” via Ether...
Adding wireless speakers to my current, vintage analog system.
I seem to still be slightly confused about resolution and bit rates.  What does it mean when Wiim claims that the DAC can handle digital audio files of up to 32-bit, 768kHz, and how would I ever take advantage of that?  Is that just true for the...
Adding wireless speakers to my current, vintage analog system.
I ended up getting a Wiim Pro Plus, which I just connected to the receiver today, via Line Out. And I started sourcing Spotify via WiFi. Was easy to set up.  I skipped the laptop. I control/play Spotify from my phone and/or via the Wiim remote. S...
