Power cable for Lavardin
Hi, this the question for current/former Lavardin IT owners.
Have you had any success in upgrading your Lavardin ( CMR or CHR) power cable to anything from a different brand?
I know Lavardin performance can be improved slightly in audiophile terms since various cables I tried often showed improvements in some areas, such as high freq. detail and resolution, or lower bass, or quieter bkgnd and cleaner midrange. But I always come back to the CMR eventually due to its rather specific rendering of the mid range/upper bass.
PS: I am aware that Lavardin strongly recommends their own cables. ( It doesn't mean there are no better options)

This will be like you-know-what-ing into the wind, or up a rope, pick your metaphor, but the idea of things like power cords being dependent on being used with particular components is just plain bollocks. I have changed power cords on amps, pre-amps, phono stages, CD players, power conditioners, turntable motors, and more that I have probably forgotten in my nearly 30 years of doing this. (Yes, I learned about wire way back in the very early 90’s.) The following is a complete list of all the components changing power cords did not work on: . Right. Zero. Zilch. Nada. The following is a list of all the components where the power cord sounded different than it did on all the other components it was tried on: . Right again! Zero! Zilch! Nada! The following is a list of all the manufacturers who claim the power cord cannot possibly improve the indescribably beyond perfect sound of their whatever: What? Are you kidding me??! Trick question! They all say that! |
Should you choose to; one way to try other cables, for yourself, is through the following company's lending library. They charge a fee, for an audition of their wares, but- apply that cost to anything purchased. My suggestion would be Synergistic Research, as a good starting point.
