Poor sattelite picture quality

I posted the first response to this message; the one that compared Dish Network to DirecTV. I should mention that I was referring to an HDTV-capable DirecTV receiver...I guess I assumed that the HDTV in question was being used with an HDTV satellite receiver, as mine is.

I've had both The Dish Network as well as DirecTV. On a similar TV (also a Toshiba, but a slightly smaller screen), DirecTV looked excellent. This followed a wretched experience with the picture I'd endured on the same TV with The Dish Network. You may want to ask your ISF tech if there can be differences between and among various satellite providers. If so, you could get a basic DirecTV system for 50 bucks, or a dual-LNB system for around $100.
