Please talk me out of buying the Avalon Eclipse

I have found a good deal on these, never heard the Avalon speakers. Is the Eclipse  still a good speaker today? I say talk me out because I have to drive 12 hrs to get them!

Maybe you could contact the guy by you, explain the situation. Maybe even offer him a small fee for his time.

Are they the hardwood finished ones? Those were $7200 back in 1995!

Just get the things. Is 12 hours one way or round trip?

Can’t win a prize if you don’t buy a ticket!

So they're in Ft. Lauderdale. Or are you in Ft. Lauderdale?

Well, sounds like a road trip to me! Shoot on up to I10, catch Hwy98 (goes along the gulf coast) . Stop in Apalachicola for the night at the Majestic Jewel B&B after a long ride, get a dozen oysters and a grouper sandwich and grab a beer at the brewery. Next morning pick up the speakers, (you know you want to) then enjoy traveling home, stopping to see some sights along the way. If you like barbecue, Hammaknockers in Crawfordville for lunch is a must. Then stop in Sopchoppy for some Tupelo honey. I’d stay on I10 over to St. Augustine, spend the night, then just take 95 home. And don't forget Wakulla Springs State Park, right after Sopchoppy. Crazy clear water.

@grislybutter ,

Grizz, that’s my old neck of the woods. Was a firefighter in Panama City. A lot of really cool places still along the gulf that haven’t been overrun and ruined yet. They call that part the Forgotten Coast.

"one more: find something that someone wants where the speakers are from where you are."

It's Alabama, he would have to bring indoor plumbing and electricity...😆

If you’re addressing me, calm yourself, it’s called a joke. Quite the overreaction on your part, especially the pos addition. I have many friends from Alabama. Good, decent folk. When I lived down there we would often have good natured bantering like this. I was the damn Yankee. You should have heard what I got. It was not mean spirited nor malicious. Unless someone said "Bless your heart", then you know you went too far. If you are from Alabama, I meant no harm and I wish you a merry and blessed Christmas. And quit trying to get your sister under the mistletoe.

Clever! Seriously, if I offended you my apologies.

Although you’re still getting coal in your stocking for calling me a bad word.

It would have to be a steamer trunk...

Wouldn’t have posted what I did if I knew anyone there could read...

There I go again! Better also make a preemptive apology (sorry sorry sorry)

😄. Yeah, don't know what you could have been thinking. Chalk it up to temporary insanity. Complete garbage.

@celo,

No wonder you’re nuts, you have two mother-in-law’s??!!

You sure you're not already in Alabama?

@celo ,

Are you OK with letting us know what town they’re in?

Just curious as to how deep in Alabama they are.
