I have found a good deal on these, never heard the Avalon speakers. Is the Eclipse still a good speaker today? I say talk me out because I have to drive 12 hrs to get them!
The other thought is, if for some reason they don’t work for you, you could probably turn around and sell them for a nice little profit given what you’re paying for them. Just another probably obvious thought FWIW.
Yeah for $700 it’s hard to see going wrong. From John Atkinson’s review they lend themselves to brightness quite readily so hopefully you have partnering equipment that won’t trigger their brightness, but their imaging/sounstage abilities appear to be sublime — not surprising as that’s an Avalon house strength.
