Picking a power amp

Hi folks,

I'am trying to pick a power amp for a modest system(15,000)

My listening area is 12x20.

I have a MX110z tuner preamp,and a Adcom 545 100wt per channel power amp now.

I just got a Auralic Vega g1 and it sounds great to me.

I'am using tidal to the the streamer and like it a lot.

It is time to pick a power amp or speakers.

I currently have 25 year old Polk m10's and since getting the auralic,I'am fairly surprised how much better they sound.

I don't know whether to get speakers or a amp next,to get to the next level.

Amps I'am considering are Mac 225,240,275 if tube or Mac 7270 or 2205 SS.

I'am also considering AR,and CJ if I could find something 2,000-5,000

For speakers I was thinking Klipsch for tube amp or Sonus Faber if SS,if I can find a model that can do rock and used under 5,000.

I listen to 40% rock 40% pop,blues,soul 20% classical,jazz.

Any thoughts on where to go next.

Thanks

"More sensitivity =more noise'  Don't believe everything you see.

More sensitivity =less power you need to make higher db,

I run a monster pair of JBL 4435's with a first watt j2 25watt class a amp

and it has more than enough power for me in a 30x20 room.

The speakers are first as it will tell you how much power you need.

Not a lot of love here but consider a Bryston power amp. Highest quality backed by 20 year warranty and great sound. I’ve been running my 3b since 1982 and it still sounds great.

Also, if your current preamp doesn’t have eq consider an out board unit to dial in bass when you want to. Schiit makes a reasonably priced unit.

+1 on Bryston. I had a 4B here for a while and I was quite pleased with it. Excellent bass, plenty of slam, I was actually surprised by how good it sounded. It was an early model, built like a tank, and a breeze to fix yourself in the unlikely event something went wrong. I agree that these amps deserve more respect than they get these days.

I don;t have any experience with Bryston, but will be looking at all I can afford once I pick my speakers out.

Thanks.
