Phono to pre cable swap

I replaced Nordost Valhalla 1 with Nordost Odin 1; phono stage to preamp.  With the Odin,  the sound is fuller and more lifelike.   Problem is, featured instruments sound muffled and distant compared to the rest of the melody.  What happened??

Phono - Boulder 2008
Pre - Boulder 2010
Cartridge - Ortofon Anna
Tonearm - Durand Talea

Hi, it shoud not happen as Valhala and Odin have nearly the same specs.
I believe the your connection between Boulder units is only balanced so my mind goes to different pin configuration within the cable (rare).
Leave them to settle.
