Phono Preamps

Does anyone have some experiences about phono preamps from Simaudio and Whestaudio? I'm thinking about the 310LP vs WhestTWO.2.

Best regards

I had a Simaudio LP5.3 for many years. I believe that was the predecessor to the 310. I only used it with MC cartridges, Benz and Lyra. I was very happy with the sound for many years. It sounded best when connected to my preamp via balanced interconnects. My system was fully balanced so it may have been a system synergy issue.

When I changed cartridges to an AMG Teatro, I could not get them to mate well, despite the plethora of settings available on the LP5.3. I ended up going with a Musical Surroundings Nova 2, now Nova 3 which despite not having balanced outputs, works really well in my system.

I have had no experience with the Whest. Good Luck!
I had the Whest two and really liked it.   When I had the 2m ortofon black I also got the Ear 834p tube preamp.    I played around but as most seem to do with Whest I upgraded to the p30r when I switched to a Ortofon Cadenza red for my VPI.
