The gold clips are jumpers for the woofers and tweeters. The2 positives and 2 negatives need to be connected. If not, no highs.
Phase Technology PC-8.5 speakers sound flat

I recently purchased a pair of PC-8.5 speakers and recently hooked them up to my recapped Pioneer SX-850. They sound completely flat with no high end. Has anyone had experience with them? Could it just be tweeters, or somethin I am missing? Any direction very much appreciated.
What is the purpose of the gold clips between the two positive and two negative speaker connections?
