Peachtree + Era D5 .... to ..... KEF R11 + ?

Hi all,

Lurker here, but very interested in considerations this group can provide.

I currently have a very pleasant Peachtree nova + D5 speakers that I've been really happy with in my prior space. But we've recently moved and now I have a much larger open plan house that just isn't handled well by the D5's.

I've auditioned the KEF R7 and 11's, and am really fond of them. My question for this group:  I've really loved the Peachtree Nova, but I'd really like to have an amp/pre that was more iPhone app friendly to choose between sources, manage volume etc. from a stand-off. I've got a dumpy Marantz integrated that satisfies the iPhone requirement, but not the sound requirement.

I've had a look at the NAD options, and Cambridge. I'd really like to keep the amp selection under $2k if I can. What else is worth a look?

Thanks!
Chris

Both, but likely a lot more iOS devices around the house. Airplay is frequently used.
Buy a used Apple TV version 3.
You can pick one up for $30.
it will get you streaming via Airplay without much $.
Optical out to Optical in on a DAC (Done deal).
it will sound good, you can always choose a greater upgrade path later if you need to.

Thanks - You got it - that's exactly how we stream to the Peachtree today. The only annoyance is that since there is no direct control of the Peachtree, one can't turn it on/off or switch the source remotely.

I've seen the Marantz/Denon iPhone apps. Was just wondering if folks particularly liked any other platform's app capabilities.
