Pass Labs D1

Hello,
Reviving this after a long while. Not too many D1s out there, I guess.
I have one, PCM63 variety, which I need to fix (one day one channel developed a strange loud noise and got quieter than the other). I have not compared too many DACs, but I cannot point to any shortcomings of the D1.
Did you find anything better than the D1 after all?

You know that your DAC-1 has a lifetime warranty from Pass Labs. If I were you I would contact them and have your DAC repaired. I do professional reviewing and have had scores of DACs in for review. Not only does the DAC-1 hold its own, but is much better than the great majority of them, regardless of price. It's one of my three reference DACs in my different systems. Get yours fixed!

Mine is 2nd hand, I wonder if the warranty is transferable, and whether it applies globally (I’m in Belgium), but I will surely find out.
