Most likely plastic like the 2150 was. I had one of the first 2150, its balance and bass controls were plugged in wrong at factory. Bass was adjusted with Balance, Balance was Bass knob. Sent it back, second one had a serious channel imbalance.....sent it back Hope the 2160 is better QC wise
