I've performing in the taverns, bars, and small theaters around town (and on the coast), where entertainers get drink tickets. My taste runs to the "dry", so I've been trying out the IPA's. I like 'em, but still prefer German and Netherland beers.
Mike, I'm amazed the degree to which microbrewery brands dominate the beer market up here in the northwest. I can't find Grolsch beer anywhere!
Thanks Mike, I hope to be able to make it to the next meeting. Are the members beer drinkers, or wine drinkers? ;-) ---Eric.
I'm about to move up to Portlandia from SoCal. Is Positive Feedback, being Portland-based, involved in any local activities? Based on a couple of encounters I've had with David Robinson at Hi-Fi Shows, he doesn't seem to be a real friendly or pleasant guy. Maybe he was just having a bad day, a couple of times ;-).
Thanks Bwalso, I'll be in touch. I'm aware that the housing situation in Portland is getting insane, so I may end up in the outskirts, Gresham perhaps. I don't want to be too far from Music Millenium, my favorite Portland record store!
The 3-bedroom tract house my parents bought in Cupertino California (now home to Apple and ebay) in 1959 for $12,000 has risen in value to.....a lot. The house across the street sold last year for $1.4 million. Too bad my dad sold ours in '66!
I'm about to find out about Portland, as I'm moving across the river from it in a week, to Vancouver Washington. I've visited Portland a lot, and know there are a few shops still open. Of those I've been in Echo only, and realize being in Southern California with it's rich (I don't mean in the financial sense, but that too!) audiophile community for so long has really spoiled me!
