Oppo 983 or Blue Ray for sound quality

I currently have a Oppo 981 and want to upgrade to 7.1 output.I enjoy movies however I enjoy listening to music more and spend more time listening than I do watching movies.I also am considering having an Oppo mod job.Which is the best audiophile Blue Ray player and would that be superior to a modified Oppo?
I have Thiel CS6s powered by Classe mono blocks and a Classe Proccesor.
