Freya allows more options in case you want ’em at some point. I have one and think it sounds great although I use the tube stage mostly.

I am looking for a transparent preamp with balance connects that needs no gain for one input only, not phono.
Two possibilities at my price point are the Tortuga, DIY version

Schiit Freya
Emphasis on transparency without signal loss or massage. Has anyone compared these two? Any others that compete?
