Opera DVD’s enhancement ...

I love opera on DVD. At this moment enthralled by the opening scene of Deutsche Grammophon’s  “La Traviata” with the exotic Anna Netrebko and the powerful Rolando Villazon, recorded live at the 2005 Salzburg Festival. (DVD 00440 073 4189). It indicates filmed in high definition. My question is whether an Oppo 205 will give me better visuals through its modern upconverting of the DVD than the already excellent visuals provided by my surprisingly competent upconverting Lexicon RT20 through the HDMI output to my Panasonic about 52 inch screen ? I always feel the desire to be  closer to the production. And yes, I regularly attend live productions. Thanks to those responding. Pete P.S. this production is transcendent : )
