I have a CD-80 and have been thinking of upgrading but the Phillips is so good I am not sure what to replace it with. Built like a tank and has never given me a minutes trouble in the 10 years I have owned it. I have a CJ premiere 17 preamp with CJ MF2500 amp, Thiel 3.6s, audioquest cables.
Old Phillips CD Players
My first player I ever bought(and still have)is a Phillips 880.It is similiar to the 960 and the CD 80.These machines are gorgeous and so well built.I am wondering if there are current mods that can be done to make it competitive with 1000.00 to 1500.00 players currently.Also if anyone owns one of the above machines,how do you think it compares to CD players today?
