If we dont like someone the best politic is silence...

If we like him and his service or opinion then   we may concur with him...

Insults or innuendos  are despicable... Sarcasms are useless...Only noise...

It seems very few understand anything to acoustics...

They buy but never experiment using clear concepts ....

After that they argue about the gear...As in this thread with insults and more...

For any acoustician the gear matter not,he can adapt a room to any system at any price at any budget  for the best possible result...

Be proud and become creative.... Buy an acoustics book...

Go and search for the ratio LEV / ASW  and how to improve it...

Go and read all there is about Helmholtz resonators...

Read everything from  Dr. Edgar Choueiri to understand better what is a stereo system and his innate flaws...

You need only to trust your ears and go slowly.... It took me 2 years...

Be happy with what you can afford and you will pity almost every one purchasing blindy going for publicity...

Thanks for the clarification...mikepowellaudio’s avatar

Most people has no idea how a room relation to a system matter more than even the system parts because it is acoustics controls which gives to any system the possibility to reach his peak design potential or worse to reach abyssal bad S.Q. way under his real potential  even compared to non controlled acoustical mere normal condition

Most consumers hypnotised by marketing has no idea...

At best they buy panels...

How is it that if my room speakers sound not to my taste (too much bass, too much highs, unnatural timbre etc) i can modify it at will at no cost ?

How is it and why no reviewers ever explained how to do it with any speakers at any cost?

Simple, you are  supposed to buy and stay ignorant as i was for all my life believing in gear marketing as solutions...

For sure gear design of various quality exist, we get what we pay for, once this is said a very acceptable good sound can be implemented at peanuts cost, it is relative to your needs, if you learn acoustics...

It was even useful to understand my headphone  (K340)behaviour and optimize it as i did  with my low cost speakers  ...

I never listen reviewers now i listen my room....

All the speakers i ever heard in my life sound bad in various ways in a non controlled room...All of them...

There is certainly exception but i dont know them...

And even if a pair of speakers seems to sound good for your ears, be sure that they dont sound at all like they were designed to be at their  OPTIMAL best in  most living room..And the difference in performance  is huge between a living room and a dedicated completely controlled  room.... ( i know that for sure i take 2 years to create one )

I owned the Tannoy dual gold for 40 years and i neve4r heard them really all these years ...

Why?

Like most audiophiles i ignored  completely the basic acoustics principles and how to use and control the parameters at play and they are intricate and numerous...

Subjectivist who "Taste" speakers brand  name or objectivist who measured them are in the same bag, they ignore how to set a room to let a specific speakers reach his peak performance ...

Then a reviewer  bash a brand ?  So what...

All reviewers spoke the same language as the consumers : costlier upgrade of their prefered brand name miraculous gear solution proposition   with no acoustics basic...

cool

Take the speed of sound divide it by the room dimensions and you will know why in my past room the sound wave cross the room 80 times each second interacting with all the acoustic various  material content of the room .... This must ring a bell no ? it ring a bell in my brain when i begun to thought about the way to control these reflections path and pressure nodes...

Nevermind the speakers and his price...

We always  hear a system /room ....Not a branded name....
