No sneering Please

Please no flaming.

Audio snobbery aside, has anyone ever done an objective  comparative test of the latest chifi TPA3255 chip powered amps vs the 'high-priced spread'?

I am prepared to be shocked.

No sneering, please.

Very interesting review.  Not sure why @bigkidz discounts the use of reviews that come from credible sources.  I for one don't have the opportunity to run out and buy, or demo everything that comes along so the reviewer plays an important role in the chain of information.  The most disturbing thing I find in this review is the concept that a $1500 amp could possibly replace my $15,000 amps (times 2 for mono blocks).  I suspect there are many like me who don't want to believe the day is coming when our very expensive amps will be boat anchors.  My son-in-law is of the generation that can't believe the money I have tied up in traditional SS amp.  He's Class D all the way.  I'll keep my head in the sand as long as possible.  😆

@bigkidz  I don't know any reviewers.  I'm not in the industry.  I'm just a retired guy who loves music.  I didn't mean any offence when I questioned your statement.  I just don't get all the negative comments about reviews.  Call me naive, but I like to think publications such as Absolute Sound would not intentionally print misleading reviews and would be publishing reviews by people with a lot more knowledge of equipment than I have.  I wouldn't run out and buy something based on one article, but I also wouldn't discount the reviewers opinion just because it's the first I've read.  When I read the list of equipment the reviewer is using for his baseline comparisons, it's usually top shelf gear?  Are reviewers a bit jaded?  Possibly.  But if I want a review that trashes equipment and tells me what a waste of money it is, I can always jump over to ASR to cleanse my palate.  🤣  Merry Christmas.
