No one actually knows how to lculate what speaker cable they need

It goes back to cable manufaturars, mostly provide no relevant data! to sales and the users. None will answer this!
Whay do you think that you own now the optimal cable to your setup?
I think I've figured it out.

Mister b4icu...your snarky and condescending response is weird since I was simply responding to YOUR question, but based on your posts I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised. Bill Low on the other hand was helpful and respectful during our conversation, and the logical and well thought out descriptions of what these cables do and why they do it are succinct and relevant, and proven by their performance in my system.
Mister b4icu...I met the esteemed Mister Low when talking to a sales dude about speaker cables at a nearby audio "salon" (meaning one of the few hifi joints left) and he introduces me to Low who's standing behind me. Low is amazingly passionate about this stuff...cool guy. I use a pair of 10 foot Rocket 33s (the cheapest of that line of cables) per Bill's suggestion (read the stuff on the AQ site about the bi-wire capabilities of these cables for details) from a 12wpc (likely more like 10wpc with the KT77s I prefer) Dennis Had Inspire Firebottle HO (it's a HO...says so right on the front) single ended amp into 99db efficient Klipsch Heresy IIIs. The resulting sound is magnificent.
I've spoken to Bill Low from Audioquest and he seems to really know his stuff, I trust his opinions (the ones I understand somewhat anyway), and like the sound my rig produces using his speaker cables. Been using his speaker cables for decades...in fact, it was a pair of his early cables that actually showed me there is a large sonic difference between speaker cables, and for that I'm, grateful...for this thread, not so much.
My post got deleted also, and now I can't remember what I said but I suppose it was less than kind to the esteemed b4icu. Oops...however, to sum up, you should replace your silly speaker cables with gigantic jump starter cables, which seem to have an advantage from the fact that the battery terminal clamps should be able to grip your binding posts with aplomb! The does make me wonder if my AQ Rockets would work as jump starter cables...gotta get some clamps and test this...I have no problem with b4icu marketing his ideas as there's always room for comedy here, especially since Bo1972 has been somewhat inconsistent lately.
Gasbaggery aside, although in this thread it would render the page virtually empty, most high end cable manufacturers make worthwhile products in gauges that are apt for nearly anything, and unless you need to run 160 feet of wire for some reason you likely need not worry about the inane minutiae proffered here. Directionality has been noted on cables for decades, ditto the understanding of copper purity, and mind numbing exclamations using obscure factoids by hand wringing self appointed "expert" worriers, offering non-issue issues for others to pontificate (or rant) about, simply harsh the mellow of the party. Buy cables from reputable companies, plug 'em in, and try to think about the music instead of musings from thin skinned geeks.
I've mentioned before (but really, you simply can't get enough of these fascinating tales) that my current speaker cable was chosen because Bill Low, who just happened to be standing behind me at a shop when I was talking about bi-wire cables with a sales dude, personally handed me a set and said, "use these." He said some interesting things like his personal hifi rig is in his bedroom (!), and that some sort of magnetic interference issue was obviated by the separate runs of wire in his Rocket cables. My "Marshall McLuhan" hifi moment. And the cables get the juice to the speakers with aplomb.
I purchase solid core (currently AQ biwire works for me) and plug it in...I then listen to music and completely forget about it (the wire, not the music). I am very careful about it being long enough to reach the furthest speaker...hey...I'm a perfectionist.
