It is really important to identify speakers who’s sound qualities appeal to you, then to verify your amp is up to the task and is sonically compatible. While all components matter... some mater more... and speaker the most. So, you need to identify the sound you like. By far the best is auditioning, while reading reviews (from good professional mags... The Absolution Sound and Stereophile, and HiFi+. This will help you understand the differences between them. B&W are great at a big kick in the bass and lots of treble energy, Focal are very detailed, Sonus Faber very musical and natural sounding, DynAudio are neutral and detailed... there are dozens more.

First priority, find speakers you love the sound of... then see if any other changes are needed to optimize them.
