Need advice trying to record LPs to PC

I've downloaded the CFB and Wave corrector trail software,
but cannot record any sound. Software downloads went fine, command modules work fine, and I can hear my LPs through the speakers hooked up to my new HP Media Center PC, so my PC is getting a signal. The WAV file names show up in my music library, but the VU meters stay flat. Could it be the soundcard? HP helpdesk could not help. Thanks for any advice/solutions regarding this.

I started to answer this thread earlier and stopped...... Without sounding too harsh; I would ditch the computer deal you are trying to run and go out and get a stand alone CD burner.

I was in the same boat a while back and decided to go with an Alesis Masterlink (burner/hard drive) and have had very good results. It sounds really good and works flawlessly.

Another standalone option: Tascam CD-RW 700 or 750. Makes fabulous-
sounding LP copies.

How long does it take you to edit the tracks on the Masterdisk before burning them to disc?

Is it possible to put these directly into itunes without burning to disc first?

Thanks, -Ryan
Ryan,

I don't have much experience with iTunes (so take this with a grain of salt), but I don't see why not. The Masterlink has digital out, so it seems like you could burn LP's to it's hard drive and then to iTunes or make a CD. It has choices of sampling rates and word lengths too. I have compared the HD recordings to the original and the Alesis does a pretty darn good job.

As far as editing, you can spend aas much or as little time as you would like. DSP functions include fades, EQ, compression, etc. You should go to the Alesis website and check it out further becouse it will do a lot.
