NAD C165BEE/C275BEE Combo VS. NAD M12/M22 Combo

Recently, I have been listening to the 165/275 Combo. I really like it's authoritative & bassy presentation. For anyone who has compared the 165/275 with the 12/22 please share your thoughts. I understand the latter's higher price & most likely increased refinement & imaging but would like to know if it's Class D design retains the authoritative & muscular quality of the 165/275.
