@thezaks
If you want to get someone's attention, you can post their user name using this format @kren0006, and they will get a notification and they can then choose to respond or not to. Works good when you quote someone too. I apologize if you already knew this.
BTW, @jays_audio_lab, great Meet My New Speaker! video.

@thezaks
OK, got it. I appreciate the clarity, no pun intended.
I hope that the value of this thread is not dwindling. I see it as the foundation of Jay's Audio Lab and it is a great place to discuss the videos he makes, hope you hear/read this Jay @jays_audio_lab.
BTW, I think this thread ebbs and flows. Seems sometimes there's just a post or two a day, then all of a sudden, there's many posts, often brought on by the videos over on YT that stimulate the conversation.

@thezaks
I think we all respect Jay's path. But I also think it would be good if others shared their opinion on the use of this thread; Jay of course is the one in charge, so whether he changes or stays the course is up to him. And I stand with those that are wishing him continued and increasing success. He works hard and it is apparent, I like go-getters like Jay. We need more like him in this world, realizing that success is not given but earned.

@jays_audio_lab
Great post Jay. It is very hard to keep reading the thread when there are several posters who show up infrequently and try to derail the thread. They could easily just start their own thread, yet they keep coming back. Bravo on your restraint Jay.
BTW, I read "back to your normal channel....filled with the glory of spending big bucks on stereo gear" as a direct insult too; how could you read it any differently?

@deludedaudiophile
Yes, "Common sense should normally come into play". Please, at your convenience, do the listening tests with the same product for yourself, then come back and report. Nope, I haven't done it, so I have no right to say otherwise.
|
I was a bit surprised when you bought a TT. And you didn't wade in at the shallow end of the pool either. What phono pre will you be using?
|
@deludedaudiophile
Are you trying to add to this discussion? If so, great. But if you've nothing good to add, please consider not posting at all. Keeping it cordial is what should be the standard.
|
Jay, thanks for your significant and enlightening post. I've wanted to hear Boulder for some time now, mostly because of you. Maybe someday that'll happen. -I can only vaguely dream what your system sounds like now. It must be a bit of heaven.
|
@jays_audio_lab
"I actually don't even feel like comparing any electronics anymore because the sound is astonishingly good." Well it is surely a fact now you've got a new reference that sounds like, no pun intended, it'll be very hard to beat. -I don't claim to have exactly what you have, but lately my system is so dialed in that I don't want to change anything (though I keep researching anyway!). I'm really enjoying that now.
|
So it sounds like the Taiko Extreme was beat by the Aurender N30 SA.
I'm sure that the Taiko will sell quickly. Lots of buyers waiting on delivery of new product right now.
|
Can't say it any better than it's already been said, Happy Birthday Jay!
|
"DAC" has been mentioned in the last few posts. I assume that we are talking about the 3010 Preamp? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
|
BTW, Jay has dedicated lines.
I've never heard the Stromtank. But did see a prototype at a dealer in Santa Monica at least five years back.
|
It is best to just be cordial and collegial. Being accusatory or inflaming adds nothing to the value of the thread or discussion.
I read Jay’s thread every day, otherwise, I don’t come around much anymore. Agon has become the antithesis of friendly and cordial. I’ve been here for over a decade, and I wish it weren’t true, but the posts above just put another nail in the downward trend on this site. Being respectful can turn that trend if the users here will put it into action.

@clearthink
No need to "paint" you; you've done that for yourself.

Yes, life does go on but it'd be nice if it would go on without the several posters that only want to tear down WC to build themselves up. I also get that it seems as if they are being paid by someone else to wreak havoc here, it does not look good on them. I've been around this forum for some time, but don't come here much anymore due to the petty behavior of some. But I continue to read Jays thread daily. Thanks for all the hard work Jay.

@jays_audio_lab
Jay, great job on Magico Parts 1 & 2. Much appreciated and enlightening.
|
Listening to "Magico - Carta de Amor" with Jan Garbarek, Egberto Gismonti, & Charlie Haden. Not sure if this is the one, but it's what I found on Tidal.
|
I agree with the above as well. The first time I heard TAD E-1s, I couldn't get them out of my head. About 3-4 months later, I brought them home with the matching preamp/dac and amp. "more detailed and less hi fi sounding" for sure. I love the detail and musicality of this setup, it lets me listen as long as I have time for.
I've heard beryllium tweeters in other setups and didn't like them (no, not going to name them). As with everything else, implementation is key. For me, TAD do it wonderfully.
