Who said it couldn't be repaired? The Monster customer service rep. and he was right, they sent me a new one. (I got the feeling this was a common problem) That's fine while it's under warranty, but a year from now, I'd be stuck with an un-repairable unit, not good. That's the logic, sell it while it's still worth something and cut my loss before it happens.

P.S. The service department said that the unit sacrificed itself and that part is not repairable. The unit failed when I plugged it into the wall and it read that as a power surge. It seemed likely that it was possible for that to happen again, so I sold it.
