Mitigating the Bubble

Today after many years of trials and tribulations I have mitigated a sonic aberration a horizontal phase anomaly in my center stage.  While the center image was always stable and outlined it seemed narrow and bubble like and I would need to shift my body angle to really lock in the image. This was obvious on many CDs and LPs .

I have many man made fixes that helped the situation but never a total cure. Some of these are now permanent fixtures on the ceiling in 2 different locations. I made my own acoustic panels filled with long hair sheep's wool and 3 Argent Room Lenses.  I have laminar flow lenses that focus and stabilize the image across the front stage. I have built and treated an acoustic fan that overcomes the  boundaries with in my room by reducing interference. I have loaded my speaker cabinets 3 times with new drivers and now an outboard crossover. This was after my Essence 30s speakers and my Dunlavy SC4s.  ..All my components are hard mounted and direct coupled to the floor...on rock solid racks and speaker stands, custom mono bloc amps each on their own stand. All of these devices and angles and positions made the image wider and more focused but I still had that little  bubble and shift before me. Always less annoying with each new device and tweak.

So, your probably saying to yourself hurry up and get to the end. The end finally arrived today after having applied a contact enhancer 7 days ago to just 6 RCA ends out of many connections in my system.  Today with a friend who has been here a hundred times sitting in the Chair playing the same music as usual he said there was a wider sweet spot. I despise that term but he said it and not me.What we both heard was a super stable center image that was a few feet wide and not just one. The bubble was gone. The head in the vise was gone.  Off came the straight jacket and helmet. What I have now in this space intime is a glorious fully extended soundstage with all the meat on the bones and the features of talking heads on a real live performance stage.

I have probably used eight different contact enhancers over five decades but this one blows my mind. This product  Nano Flo is the ultimate in transparency.

He said, she said, this could go around forever.

@nano-flo - specifically, which $3500 power cord did your developed cord best in RFI testing?
Please give us some insight into the manufacturing process of the power cord, do you have a manufacturing plant where you make the molded ends with strain reliefs? Are there any particular specifications on materials like say 5n copper crystal wire?

It does as you suggest, look quite unassuming, particularly for a $1500 item.

Are there any reviews on the most excellent $1500 nanoflo power cord yet?

@sheridd2 - please send your payment back to the person who sent you the money.
I say that because there's already been enough dishonesty, no, not by you.

Maybe it makes the signal slide into the speakers smoother.

The $1500 cables are now $1000 and it will suppress RFI better that $3500 power cables, guaranteed.

What $3500 power cable are you explicitly meaning?
How was it measured, was it with an oscilloscope?

@theaudiotweak - where did you get your free trial of nano-flo from, more specifically, who sent it to you?

Regarding P waves vs S waves, which has more energy the primary push-pull wave or the secondary sheer wave? I ask, because assuming E = mc2 holds true,
and P waves are approximately 50% faster than sheer waves I’m betting the primary wave has the higher impact.

@sheridd2 - has your product arrived yet sir?
I sincerely hope you like it? Please be aware only the tiniest amount is required, this stuff is quite tiny and therefore the little you have can go an extremely long way. Would I be correct in assuming that Krissy personally took care of the refund (out of her pocket), and nano-flo sent you nothing?

@ozzy  - After Krissy paid for samples of Nano-flo and had friends try it on their systems for free (at her expense), she was promptly removed from any sales position, after the cost doubled, so that the middle-man wasn't in the "business model" anymore. It's the use and shaft style business model that has become kind of common.

I am sorry you weren't aware of the new in house built nano-flo power cable, which has been reduced to $1000.00 from $1500.00 by Mr Nano-flo Chris. You could have purchased four at this price compared to your Dragon (incidentally, how long have you been chasing this one? Ha).

@thecarpathian - What is shear wave interference?

G'day thecarpathian, it's been a while mate.
When I looked back again at Tom's (theaudiotweek) discussion on shear waves, one of the first things I discovered was that shear waves don't occur in liquids or gases. This lead me to consider that it may have some relation to young's modulus and friction?! Sometimes the obvious guess is correct.

A very simplistic answer to a query of the relationship between Young's Modulus and Shear Modulus I understood quickly:

Another way to define the concept of shear modulus is by the use of the word “friction”. The best example might be to consider a pair of sneakers that are either too tight or too stiff. They run up and down on the back of the heel, eventually leading to a shearing injury, which on skin is seen as a blister. The extent of the sheering and therefore the blistering may depend on how long the shoes are worn, the type of motion and some other relative factors. For instance, a person who is running on a hot, summer day may see a lot more friction damage than a person who is just walking on a spring day.

As air is not a conduit for shear waves, according to my readings, the interactions between a guitar string and air will not produce shear waves.

There will be an interaction with the primary wave, where the Young's modulus (elasticity of the string) of the string will deform and return to it's static form under tension, and sheer wave or sheer modulus will be internal and against the frame holding the string

My question @theaudiotweek is how does resurfacing the outside of the string alter in any meaningful way, the internal friction caused by the primary wave splintering off perpendicularly as sheer waves, within the string?

I started this thread the nite before the business relationship fell apart.

@theaudiotweak you are truthful in that matter ^^^.

Yes, it was when Krissy tried to talk Chris (nano-flo) out of trying to sell a cheap generic mass produced power cord for $1500, that he summarily dismissed her from any further business affiliation. Chris had an agreement with Krissy that she would be the seller and marketer of the product, and he would manufacture. She went ahead and spent hundreds of dollars of her own money to purchase samples from Chris which she freely gave to some of her friends (she obviously couldn’t give a hundred dollars to everyone in Agon) and almost everyone liked the product.

At least one at the time hadn’t tried it (Ozzy it must have been you) and another wasn’t happy with the prospect that it was not removable (because the particles aren’t easily removed once treated). I am not suggesting Chris deliberately lied about these two nano-flo recipients, however he wasn’t entirely accurate (probably not aware of all facts, as he severed communication from Krissy).

The nano-flo website had the price doubled after Krissy has the price disclosed to Agon members. This hereafter is my speculation: I suspect Chris doubled the price to make it appear to Agon members that they were getting a 50% discount.
But he then pulled the product used to DIY because (again speculation) members were guessing the ingredients and quite possibly got a little too close for comfort.

What is not speculation,

Note: he even ripped off the term "Perfect Path"

@nano-flo - so right here is where I publicly apologise to you and correct a mistake I have made. Through misunderstanding, I claimed that Krissy had paid you for the original sample products, I have been informed that you have spoken the truth on this particular matter. As I understand it, and correct me if I am wrong, she paid for shipping and chose who the trial participants were?

Tom worked out who you were, and wasn’t given or even suggested by Krissy to contact you. Mr Carbon as you call him, was at least right, that price for that cable was never a good idea, nor the choice of off the shelf cable, but more to the point the price you’re asking. And if you didn’t believe Krissy when she told you that cable and price wasn’t going to go down well, you can digest this thread and the above post. (how much products have you sold with her help, compared to without? that’s entirely rhetorical by the way).

The original price and original straightforward offer for the product is a fair one, I certainly thought so when I paid for it. I have never said it wasn’t what I originally posted about it. Your selective responses are very telling, sadly for the audiophile community the real loss is a great product.

@ozzy - the presentation, the effect is similar in mine as the Fidelium speaker cables produced, and by comments other have written possibly in others systems as well. And I may entirely be incorrect, it’s happened right here in this thread. Grain of salt I suppose.

**Edited to reflect changes in posts**

@twoleftears - oh, I so don’t want to encourage Chris (nano-flo) but I did not detect a volume increase with the product, a possible result of better conductivity.
This following is 100% pure speculation, grain of salt with the following please?
@ozzy - you did not like the Fideliums, this may or may not apply to your system if you do use nano-flo? Once applied, not really reversible (so I have been informed).

I was told by Jeff Smith of Silversmith cables (USA), that one of the reasons the Fidelium speaker cables sound so good (besting in many reviews much more expensive cables) was the principle that it lowered reflections within the cable, this is also the premise that Mad Scientist (New Zealand) use in their highly regarded, highly praised reviewed cables.
I don’t know if Jeff will mind me saying this? He told me that his cables were designed entirely from knowledge and he ran the numbers until it was a very good result, and didn’t need to hear it to know it was a winner.

Why does it actually sound really good, it may be that it somehow lowers or lessons the reflections in the cables connected to it. The Fidelium cables do have resistance and the geometry does lower skin affect, while the volume slightly decreases the noise also decreases and the sound is portrayed on a lower noise floor. Like I stated, and others may or may not chime in, it does however have some of the characteristics of silver conductors, without the glare that is sometimes noted in presentation. Volume didn’t appreciably seem to change though.

@nano-flo - it was Krissy who informed me that I was not correct, Krissy confirmed that at least on that and a few other areas of your explanation are correct. I stand corrected and though I am not particularly fond of your business practices (not that I am of any concern to you), my opinion of myself is more important to me, so yeah, when I speak out of line with truth, I’m more than likely to own it and apologise.
Humble pie isn’t tasty at all, there’s no sugar coating it.

@ozzy - fair enough.
Funnily enough I had heard a pair of Dragon PC when I was at a hifi store in El Paso. Used in conjunction with a Niagara power conditioner in the middle and it sounded brighter and more revealing, I have no idea why you didn't like the Fideliums, it was the same impression, brighter and better bass. I guess I'll wait to read your impressions of the Dragon PC in your system. BTW I loved it, just don't have the budget for it at the moment.

Obviously rooms, systems etc are all different.

My first ever post on nano-flo was , at the time it was unnamed, and "the new kid on the block" was being kicked around.
I have written plainly about what I heard, and pick no bones about it.

@nano-flo - just because I got a trial with neither of what you describe, doesn't mean I was cheated. Krissy isn't perfect fair enough (nor are we), don't go branding her a thief.

Also, don't pee in my pocket and tell me you've just given me a mobile fish tank.
The $1000 power cord is sold legally in a free market, it doesn't mean it's particularly good value for money, and I shouldn't tell my friends to watch out if I believe it's not worthy?

I can research and DIY a lot of things, almost always if the price isn't cost prohibitive I'll happily part with the money. And if it works sufficiently well, representing value for money, I'm likely to share my experiences with friends, and way less likely to try and DIY or even sell it. Reducing your exposure and gaining positive word of mouth advertising is not a bad way to do business, would be my guess?

@everyoneelse
RixTheTrick is about to go on a speculative journey, first of all, before launch, I operate on the premise that everyone is a friend (we may not have met yet, or they just don't know it yet).

Nasa during it's space program discovered it had a problem when there was cold welding on a space shuttle, nano welding. There's plenty of evidence of this online, I won't bore you with details. It read as though the materials themselves couldn't differentiate between whether of not they are supposed to be one piece or not, and so just became one, without the oxidised layer to keep them separated.

Making leaps here, and you can call me on it, but here goes: Almost all interconnects into connectors are dissimilar metals, there are known reflections in cables and metals, and you can do your own research on this too. The skin despite cleaning oxidises immediately or has another film differentiating it from the conductor it's passing signal through, otherwise it too would cold weld.

It is possible that a non conductive nano product doesn't add to conductivity because it's incredibly conductive, it may be that like the cold welding, by removing an obstacle (in the case of space welding, oxidised contact surfaces ) that hasn't been considered/discussed that the signal has less degradation or interactions to the signal?

As I've heard nanoflo myself, I know what it has done in my system.
Perhaps Chris may or may not have had shady advertising or dealings, hell it's all unknown to me personally. I paid for it after a free trial, and it was through and supporting a friend, but if I'd heard nothing I wouldn't have paid what I did for it.

It's evident that I'm not a fan of Chris's business practices, but also taking into account I do consider you all friends (even the ones who enjoy giving me a hard time because I befriend whose they consider outcasts or worse) I write. Because it works so well, I am not going to withhold the truthfully disclosed benefits to those confused on whether nano flo the product is beneficial.

The moral dilemma rests in your hands, whether you want invest in it despite this thread, all of our interactions. I for one will attest to the product I received as having immediate and impressive positive results, for the particular purpose I have used it for.

@deludedaudiophile - I am sorry to disagree with you and even a mate from my homeland and others who simply take issue with the manufacturer. I have weighed it up, and consider the personal benefits of the many outweigh the rewarding of practices I don't particularly like. The product in this case, for this purpose specifically does what it's claimed to from posts I've read.

This of course doesn't mean that many complaints, assertions and accusations leveled at the man doesn't befit him, that's not for me to know.

@ghasley - funnily enough I suggested food dye to Krissy some days ago, in the same colour. Otherwise the stuff is almost invisible in tiny amounts.

Hope this thread is entertaining, regardless of tension, and thoroughly funny rebuttal. We were all blind with anger when we found Krissy was dumped,
I'm guessing not what you meant?

HaPpY EaSteR everyone!

@ghasley - are you kidding me? hahahaha
Yeah, again, nobody in the World would suspect it’s the same cord in a different dress. Standard lengths because his "manufacturing processes can’t make them custom lengths".

Maybe he's marketing to those who aren't intelligent enough to afford $1500 of disposable income??

Don’t pee in my pocket and claim you’ve gifted me a mobile fish tank Chris.
