Why, when I play a record, do my meters on my Mcintosh move before the music starts? Also, maybe it’s me but when I play a record, the meters don’t seem to match up with the music.
They are reading vinyl irregularities, turntable rumble and any other extraneous noise such as foot falls and your wife screaming to lower the volume. All this is perfectly normal.
