Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience listening to the C220 preamp. I would be pairing with a MC275 MKIV tube amp. How does it compare to others in it's price range? Is it different from the C2200 sonically? Thanks for your opinions, -Bill
bill- haven't heard the c220, but the 2200 is REALLY good...there is no doubt in my mind that the 220 must stellar...keep us posted on your findings...brent
I purchased a C220 about 4 weeks ago. For weeks, I was torn between it and the C46. In the end, I opted for the simplicity, tubes, and price tag. It sounds absolutely fantastic! As far as comparing it to the C2200, Ron from McIntosh posted somewhere on one of these forums that the two are very close sonically. I don't think you can go wrong with the 220. Good luck!
