Mastersound 300B Monoblocks

Just wondering whether there are members familiar with the Mastersound 300B monoblocks. They seem somewhat costly at $17,000 retail compared to other 300B monoblocks. I am told that Mastersound, although not that terribly well known in the US, is regarded as ultra Reference in Europe, with their transformers second to none. Just curious, as the 30 Wpc they offer per monoblock could allow the use of a variety of excellent loudspeakers. Thanks in advance for your responses.

You may want to research the VAC 30/70 monoblocks.  There's a pair for sale right now for only $6,000.  I have pair of 30/70 Signatures with VAC supplied 300B's and NOS RCA splitter and driver tubes.

While I can't address the 300b monoblocks I do own the Reference 845 which are 40 watts and I can tell You they have no problems with the 4 pairs of speakers I own. I have used them with:

Tannoy Definition 700
B&W 805n
Vienna Acoustics Strauss
Wilson Sophia 2

Each is a different speaker and I never thought I was missing anything with it. Good Luck,

Mike
