That makes perfect sense as in a one box CDP everything is right there and optimized versus a Transport/DAC setup.

Has anyone tried this? I know the benefits are well documented with a transport / DAC combination.
I have a dCS P8i which accepts a word clock input, and can't help but wonder. Seems like an external clock could improve things if it's specs were 'better' than the internal clock in the P8i.
Interested in actual experiences, not theory so much....
