Marantz SA 7001 with Audiocom level 2 mods

I am thinking of getting an Marantz SA 7001 (not the KI) with Audiocom's level 2 mods -- available for about $1000 equivalent including the player. I tend to listen to a great deal of SACDs (much less redbook).

Does anyone have experience with this Marantz and Audiocom mods? Otherwise can some tellme if there is better SACD sound out there for the price?
