Manual/specs for Forte 1A and Michael Yee PA-1
Hi everyone,
I got a Forte 1A and a Michael Yee Audio PA-1 a few years ago and recently started looking for info on them (specs, manual, reviews, etc.) with no luck.
I have been passing time trying different speakers with different amps (a Hegel H190 and a pair of Ampzilla monoblocks with Bryston P26 preamp) and would like to include the Forte 1A and Michael Yee PA-1.
From what I know, the Forte 1A is rated at 50 wpc @ 8 ohms. Not sure what the 4 ohm rating is.
The Michael Yee PA-1 is rated at 100 wpc @ 8 ohms and 150 wpc @ 4 ohms.
The speakers I have been using:
KEF LS 50s, Ologe 5, Magnepan LRS and B&W Matrix 801 S2s.
I am also using a 4 passive sub DBA with each speaker set up.
I am still a newbie here but I think I understand the concept of low powered amps possibly causing speaker damage (or was it amp damage?).
I used these amps briefly at low to moderate volume levels. I really liked the sound but was afraid to try higher volume levels.
Realizing these are 4 significantly different speakers, I thought I’d play it safe and ask for guidance.
As the only class A amp I have (unless the Michael Yee Audio PA-1 is also class A), it would be nice if the Forte 1A can work well with these speakers.
Should I avoid using either of these amps (or anything with similar power ratings) with any of the speakers listed above?
If anyone using/enjoying these great little amps can help locate specs or a manual, I would be grateful.
Thanks and safe listening!
