Lumin x1 vs P1 vs U2 as a STREAMER ONLY

I understand fully that the x1 has built in dac, p1 has preamp/dac/streamer, and u2 is a streamer only

but is there any reason why the x1 or p1 would sound better as a streamer than the U2?

All three of these have Fiber networks (which is a huge lumin advantage as I prefer much more over standard ethernet)

The only advantages I can see for the p1 and x1 are duel linear toroidal power supplies vs just a linear toroidal for the U2... however this actually might not mean much as a streamer only might not have a need for more than that.. And a separate dac would have its own psu

The U2 has direct coupled usb... something that is pushing me over the edge and making me want this over any other streamer. USB is the best way to connect to dac and the u2’s low noise solution will help best it over streamers that are more expensive

I dont see much hype or info out about the U2.. mostly the minis because of their prices and the higher priced lumin gear, but how can you make apples to apples comparisons when the higher priced stuff contain dac/and or pre?

I currently have the etherregen which accommodates the fiber network and have a fancy external clock upgrade attached to it. In theory this should be very close to an fancy music server playing off storage, as the fiber network would eliminate noise and jitter, and the excellent clock should also resolve most of the remaining difference

Wondering if I should plunge and buy the U2 and match it to a mola mola tambaqui

would I be missing out on anything on the streaming end? In theory with the new processor should the U2 be as good if not better than the x1 and p1 in streaming?

I had the X1 and loved it especially the streamer. It is in the same league as the Sonore Optical Rendu and PlayBack Designs Streamer-IF that I still own, interestingly they all sound different, which surprised me. I used fibre optic on the X1 and the OpticalRendu. The PDB supports fibre but I need to buy their DAC to use it, so it is currently used with SPDIF, with Etheregen taking a fibre optic input and outputting RJ45 to the PBD.

I did a shootout with the X1 DAC section with the Schitt Yggi+ LIM and thought the Yggi+ was the one to keep since it was a bit more detailed. I miss the streamer on the X1. I really could use it today,

Btw - The new Schitt CD player can output USB, I think that can be setup like a streamer.
