Comment above is correct. As long as volume control can get system as loud as you need it it will not matter
Lower Volume in HT Mode
Preamp: Marantz Av7005
Amp: Parasound A51
Mains: b&w 803d
Center: b&w cm centre 2
In ceiling surrounds: Sonance 831vdr
In stereo mode, using only the mains, my system sounds great and can get very loud - no need to go above -10dbm unless you really want to showcase the system.
But in HT mode, I am often listening in the -10dbm or higher levels as the volume seems much lower than in stereo mode.
Any idea why?
