Looking to upgrade from Emotiva XPA-1 monoblocks

I am currently running 4 XPA-L1s bi-amped into a pair of Legacy Whisper HDs along with a Legacy Wavelet DAC. My main sources are an Emotiva ERC 3 CD transport and a Rega RP 6 turntable through a Moon preamp.

The Wavelet and the Moon pre are recent upgrades and have made a pretty big difference coming from a Yamaha RX-A 1050 receiver!

For the most part the system sounds pretty good. But lately I am starting to feel like the sound is a little edgy (if that makes sense).

I feel like I have exhausted the tools I have at hand, the Wavelet room correction/contouring, room treatments, cable upgrades etc. So, I am thinking new amps would be the likely upgrade to get that little extra out of my system.

Do I stay with a 4 monoblock setup? Could I move up to better stereo amps? Stay with bi-amping? Yada, yada, yada!

Budget wise I would like to stay under $6000.

I have been doing a lot of research, but thought I would throw it out here to get some input as well.

BTW...I will be attending AXPONA next weekend so any recommendations to explore are welcome also.

Sorry for the long post!

Have you tried playing with speaker orientation/toe in? Stereophile review of these speakers suggested that the high frequency response is quite sensitive to toe in...perhaps that can tame the edginess.

@audio_guy_uofw - Yes, they are very directional.
@jeffbij - I am curious how they will sound with the whispers. I have heard them with his Dynaudio Evoke 50s and they sounded really good.

I let you know how they sound!

Sorry for the long post...
After spending time with a couple of LSA amps and a Legacy iV2 Ultra the Emotivas are definitely history!
The LSA Warp 1 is an absolutely incredible amplifier for the money. I bi-amped with 2 of them and was pretty amazed at what I heard. Incredible detail and really nice depth. No harshness in the mids nice tight low end. Quite smooth.

But the best combination was an LSA Voyager gan 350 on the bottom end and the Warp1 on top. Holy smokes! what a combination! The way the Voyager handled the low end was amazing. The drums on Fourplay's "Chant" from their "Between the Sheets" album (my go-to for evaluating the system) was nothing short of spectacular! That combination brought out every nuance of Harvey Mason's articulate style of drumming. The bass, the guitar work and the keyboards were all right where you would expect them to be. I felt as though I was sitting in the studio with them.

For whatever reason I felt that I had to bi-amp in order to get the sound I was after but not any longer.

So... I landed on the Legacy Iv2 Ultra. With 1000 watts and the dual mono block configuration it really stands out!
From the first time I visited the Legacy room at AXPONA several years ago to the many visits to the factory and listening room, I have a great appreciation for their innovation, product design, quality and above all else the sound! Not to mention Bill and his staff are great to work with!
I got a very good deal on the iV2 that I could not pass up. So, the LSAs have gone back to their owner.
The iV2 in combination with the Wavelet 2 driving those 25-year-old Whispers puts a big smile on my face every time I fire it up! Those are some of the most realistic sounding speakers I have ever heard. Especially with some proper amplification. Nothing hyped. Very revealing. Bad recordings sound like bad recordings. But good recordings are spectacular! Coming from a muscian/recording background I have come to appreciate uncolored relatively flat response from my speakers. And these deliver! So, I am set for a while I hope. Until the new version of the Voyager gan 350 comes out later this year.

One more thing... the Vera-fi Audio Swiss Digital Fuse Box is the real deal! Those were used on the LSA amps, and I now have them one my components as well.
I would never have believed it had I not heard the difference on my system. I avoid snake oil gimmicks at all costs. I have to hear it to believe it! And I heard it!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions from everyone. Much appreciated.

Time to listen to some music!
