Hello everyone,
i just upgraded my system with a Lyngdorf MP-40 processor.
My set-up:
electronics; I have a Denon AVC-A1XV amplifier, Oppo UDP-205 as a source or Apple TV,
speakers: Monitor Audio Silver RS8, Center channel Monitor audio silver C350, woofer Apex AW12, Surround back Dali Alteco.
Because I added the Lyngdorf processor, I feel I have to renew my speakers (Front, Center, Sub) to give justice to the electronics I have.
I am very happy with my current sound even though I feel the Silver RS8 can have harsh Treble and lack of power to fill my room.
I have a dedicated Cinema/ Music room with the following dimensions , 3.44m width (rear wall), 5m Long et 2,40m High.
The speakers are separated by proxi 2,5 meters, and the listening position is about 3,5/4 meters from the front speakers. The speakers can not be very far away from the rear wall (max 40 cm) and one of the front is 10-15 cm close to the side wall. I intend to treat the room event after having run RoomPerfect calibration software.
I would like a relaxed, immersive and still detailed sound, with a very large sweet spot as I like to enjoy music and films with friends.
I listen to all kind of music (everyday) et watch a lot of movies in a HT configuration.
I have shortlisted a few speakers that could be of interest:
- TAD ME1 (my fear on this one is that if might be fatiguing and the other issue is that there is no central speaker)
- Fyne audio F1-8 (the down portes bass could be an advantage with my configuration, again no central speaker)
- KEF Ref 1 Meta with ref 2 meta (too lean?)
- Magico A1 (too analytical and hard to drive?, central channel too expensive)
- Dali Epicon 2 with the Epicon Vokal center
- Joseph audio pulsar (no central channel)
- Sonus Fabier Olympica nova 2 with corresponding central speaker.
I intend to add 2 boundary woofers BW3 from Lyngdorf to compensate the fact that these speakers a standmounted,
I would like any feedback / advice as to which speakers could meet my expectations? Thank you in advance for your help.
Take care.
Boris
