Looking for info on aftermarket fuses

I'll be exploring the world of aftermarket fuses shortly and would just like to know if there are any brands or models to avoid due to unreasonable failure.  I've been in hi-fi for decades now and have probably replaced only a handful over the years.  I'd hate to invest $$$ in a fuse/fuses only to have it blow unnecessarily.  Thanks for any input.

One suggestion in the case of Synergistic Research fuses is to consider going up one rating (I.e. 625mA for 500mA and so on) to avoid losing a fuse to switch on surges. I’ve lost many SR blacks when putting in the rated size, all to switch on surges, but have no issues when I go up a size. The dealer you use should be able to advise on the appropriate substitutions

ps and yes, this may void your warranty, caveat emptor etc etc
Folkfreak,  no need to worry about warranties as I haven't bought "new" equipment in years.  I like newish used equipment as I hate the beating you take on the resale value.  Is this advice only applicable to the SR fuses or is this true of most other upscale after market fuses as well?  Thanks
