Check out TOP alumnus Doc Kupka's band; Dr. Funk, and the Strokeland Superband - Bumped Up To 1st Class. Authentic East Bay Grease, TOP style!!
Came across this old thread (again!) and coincidentally, I'm listening to Donny Hathaway's "Live" playing 'Everything is Everything'. Willie Weeks (the great) is playin' the famous bass solo and the crowd's goin' ape! You should enjoy the David Garfield disc although it's more of a west coast studio/fusion disc, not a 'Live infectious funk jam' at all (but most of what's listed on this thread doesn't fall under that category either). Garfield also recorded the excellent "Tribute To Jeff' Porcaro (legendary late drummer for Steely Dan & Toto) AND IF you enjoy 'live infectious' Fusion, Garfield recorded a live record with the Karizma band called 'Document' that's absolutely killa!
Also, Lydia Pense & Cold Blood recorded 'Transfusion' in 2005, I found it in a used CD shop, and sounds as greasy as ever! Websites on the CD are listed as www.digmusic.com & www.coldblood.biz
