I think of it as the difference between restoring a classic car and buying the same car in perfect condition. The latter may seem to be expensive and would certainly be more expensive than purchasing the vehicle that needs a restoration, but by the time you finish restoring such a car up to the level of fit and finish that makes you happy, you will have spent much more money, and worst of all you will have lost precious time. Hold off and buy the best version of a LP12 you could imagine wanting, all in one fell swoop. Parts and labor for old cars and upgrades for old turntables are very expensive.
Linn LP 12 Sondek which version
Hello Everyone
I would like some advice from you Linn LP 12 experts. I am about to buy a new Linn Lp 12 composed of the following:
Version a) Linn LP 12 + Radikal 2 (Akurate version) + Urika Phono + Ekos SE 2 + Kore + Karousel.
Version b) Linn LP 12 + Lingo 4 + Ekos SE 2 + Keel + Karousel.
In both versions I would mount a Lyra Titan i.
Which version would you recommend? I know it can be complicated. However, for your knowledge this turntable would replace an SME Model 10 equipped with an SME Series IV arm, but since I had the opportunity to listen to a Linn LP12 Klimax in my system I have been literally struck by lightning. Thanks
Kind regards
