The Keltik is an active only speaker. You must have at least 3 amps to run them, preferably 4. Linn has been perfecting active speaker systems for at least 20 years, so they know what they are doing. An active Keltik system is one of the most impressive systems you will ever hear(in an all Linn system).
I just recently bought a pair of keltik speakers, unfortunaly ,I do not have the funds for the active cards yet. I do have the 5140s active and from passive to active was a great improvement. If anyone who has gone from another linn speaker to the keltiks, I would like to here from them . dglinn
