Linear Power Supply Recommendations!

While I realize linear power supplies share the same basic principle—using a transformer to step down voltage, rectification to convert AC to DC, and regulation to maintain a steady output….there are several factors that ultimately differentiate their performance in a specific application.

Did you find one particular LPS performed better than the others?  I am looking for a dual output 12V / 3A power supply to power my Telegartner Opt Bridge 1000M.

Ferrum HYPSOS Dual Output with its ‘Sweet Spot Tuning’ has caught my attention. Any users out here that is currently using this LPS?

Uptone JS-2 is a choke based lps with two outputs, differs from the usual resistor/cap lps

@lalitk I would be interesting to see a direct lps comparison, love my JS-2.

Forgot to mention JCAT Optimo lps, very nice quality lps, I use the Optimo ATX with my custom server.

For anyone using lps with various components, DC cables also important. I've built and or used a variety over the years, best have been Mundorf Silver/Gold wire with Oyaide connectors.

@lalitk For too long I'd assumed DC cables couldn't be that important, big mistake, on some equipment makes similar difference as AC power cables.. I haven't tried any home brew shielded DC cables, just light twist on the Mundorf. Doubt I'd be ever be tempted to try shielding on the Mundorf, prior off the shelf DC cables shielded, Mundorf far more open, transparent than those. Using the Mundorf DC on JCAT Network XE and Sonore OpticalRendu, both powered by Uptone JS-2.
