Let's talk music, no genre boundaries

This is an offshoot of the jazz thread. I and others found that we could not talk about jazz without discussing other musical genres, as well as the philosophy of music. So, this is a thread in which people can suggest good music of all genres, and spout off your feelings about music itself.

Music

The now that becomes the what where when how why later if significant to recall and fit later....or just drown oneself into....for a moments' sake...

...and sometimes you just want to dust off the subs....

"I go....for grid, for Goofy, and St. Walt !"  (very obscure quote...)

Your demoted savant, J ;)

...and my favorite ending line of the title song....

"...in another face...."

One can get weary of the same but different same, every morning thru day.... *s* ;)

Harder to keep an audience enthralled of late....busy 'celling' the show and selves at it....and the 'fav' selections open and close the gig...

*L* The benefit of being 'Auld Skool' is we can pic'n choose what, how, and Why we listen in our acoustic cells....😏

Is the madman black or are the windows painted?
Draw your own conclusive curtains.....as usual... 🤨😉

....imho, I think any and all genres need a well-struck dope slap...
and I can't not agree that AC/DC deserves the above....

Nothing like a parody to ground your capacitors' capacity. ;)

Above all, friends & ’others’.....Yes, maintain ’Perspective’...

In the next world, you're on your own.

@audio-b-dog Twyla and David Byrne collaborated on 'The Catherine Wheel' back in '81...David didn't have much to say about it later...perhaps not a pleasant RT mix, given the personalities involved....but I'm just an 'interested absurder' of such....

This/that was back in '81, so there's a time shift involved that caused who knows what as far as we as listeners are involved....
Per Twyla, there is/was a heavy pineapple concept involved....

I like pineapples as a consumable, so my interpretation is loaded.... ;)

Always a treat to watch Baryshnikov dance, the guy could make cats jealous if they were able to discern such....good to know he's still with us and mentoring the up and coming....
At 3 years my senior, he's still at the barre which ought to make me want to retain some of the nimbleness I've had when push became 'move your ass faster'....
It's when you forget the years have moved you on further through reality it shows...;)
...and sometimes, I just want to have some fun.... ;)

"Ah, Happy Brave New World..."

Sounds like another version of the glass filled to mid-level......
Will Human music survive....?

Of course it will.  Talent will remain to introduce yet new variances and 'hooks' that tip that domino in your cortex and light up the rest of the cranium.

To believe otherwise, this soon, unleashes what you fear.

AI need's to learn and understand what Hope is...Why it's important that it never must be squelched in it's span with us.

Music is part and parcel to that Hope....
Deny? Die anyway....

Not so much into where 'serious music' has fronzen into amber...yes, wonderful.
I happen to be in This Era, error it may be.......looking at that jump off the edge.... ;)

@mapman ..Thanks for the PR 'screen flood'.... Haven't had one of those in awhile.... *L* ;)  Prefer Seesaw from Search/Lost Chord for the bass opener and the manic laughter myself, but y'know how taste tastes....

@audio-b-dog ....thanks for the Optimist gesture, but tend more as Realist with a pesky Nihilist cloud in tow....

Ever since fElon announced his 'super 'puter project labeled Colossus froze me in place....hoped it was just a sick pun, recalling this little number made when I graduated high school....

Not that I want to be a canary coughing in the coal mine, mind you....but with all the bad press AI is getting....this one, at least, has eyebrows raised and fur on ends....

Gets hard to argue when Someone Else has 'fingers' on All the buttons....

"Are we feeling lucky, punks?"
