It should work. All you are doing is attenuating the voltage supplied to the tweeter. The internal crossover will still apply the attenuated signal to the tweeter. Make sure the L-pad has the power handling necessary.
L-pad question
I'm thinking of trying l-pads to allow treble control of my speakers. As they are 3-way and tri-wirable I was wondering if it's possible to connect an l-pad across the tweeters' binding posts. Or, do l-pads have to be connected internally to the crossover?
Ideally, I'd like to try this without opening up the speakers.
