KT77 tubes in a MC275 amp

I have a MC275 and blew a KT88 tube - I also have a MC240 and a bunch of spare KT77 tubes.

Can I use KT77 tubes in my MC275?

*Sarcasm is the refuge of the weak.*

My question is serious. Will it damage the tubes, or the amp?

no you cannot... the kt77 will not run correctly and will be destroyed if run in place of the kt88/6550 output tubes, for which the amp was designed... the amp may also be damaged

I spent about an hour reading both of the owner's manuals, and then ran a few searches and couldn't find the answer so I decided to ask here cuz everybody seems very knowledgeable. I appreciate the answers. I guess I just have to wait for the delivery of new kt88 tubes. Thanks everyone!

IF you like the sound of the new ones (after 60 hours break-in), then it is wise to order a spare set

dseeker, now listen very carefully, this is important. If you have a bunch of spare KT77's you should immediately send them to me for proper disposal. DM me and I will send you a label.
