@dskinner,
I'm an owner of 3 Krell amplifiers. The bass from many of them is known as the best from the era that they were built. With that said, Pass Labs sound very different than Krell amplifiers. Some love the sound and others feel that the music is softened like "tube amps". This sounds good to some, but the fast attack and sometimes the bass is soft.
There is a Krell repair approved place in south Florida called High Performance Stereo. Same name with the dot com in the web address. They offer used Krells and also can fix any Krell that you may have. The ARC Krell combo could be what you are looking for. Pass Labs are for some, but not some that prefer the Krell attack. Krell has balls, and that's all there is to it. There are some there now used, and I have used them myself. Take a gander at the website and see what's up.
