Krell KPS 20i cd player w/ Delta 9 upgrade

Hello group i have a question for you all. I have a Krell KPS 20i cd player w/ the Delta 9 upgrade that i bought used about a year ago. About a week after i was using it the display lights started malfunctioning . The cd player plays good with no issues in the sound. What i do is dim the front lights to off so i do not see the display malfunctioning. My question is this something known from these cd players? Will it ever start affecting  the player itself? Is this something fixable? Should i be concerned? I really like this player alot and really would like to keep it. Any info is very welcome. Mike
