historically, the black triangle CD came directly from Japan around 1983/84. These discs are the most valuable and have the best sound, IMO.

Second note,

a close 2nd CD is the 1986 CBS made in Austria edition.

To keep adding to the confusion of this best Jazz album ever released- there is a new Japan import SACD version slated for release in mid-July 15. Ad can be viewed on The
Elusive Disc. I own the 1st Japan imported SACD that was released in the early 2000's. Very vice sounding disc, especially in SACD glory. Still, the very best CD version is the CP32 black triangle disc from 1986. There is always (1) or (2) for sale on eBay. Keep me posted and Happy Listening.

At any rate, no download is going to better the physical format.

No rethink is required. I stand (very) firmly on my assessment.
