Kef R11 vs Polk L800 vs Triangle Esprit Australe Ez`

hi Guys,

Looking to buy new floor standers.

Thinking between 3 of them. My equipment is full stack PS Audio (BHK 250, DSD, PS Audio Preamp) and Shiit (Ragnarok, Yggdrasil)

so these are my thoughts

Kef r11
- Beautiful cabinets
- British sounds

Polk L800
- SDA
- Made in USA
- Big soundstage

Triangle Esprit Australe Ez
- new kid on the block?

I don't have a single-ended amp (needed for Polk L800, though)

Music I play
- chillout
- balearic
- soft / smooth jazz
- EDM
- enigmatic

I like to play at lower volumes sometimes and have still "filled" sound.

Let me know what you think. My current speakers: Polk LSIM 707 and Wharfedale EVO 4.4 (which are very different, but I quite like them both)

thanks,
Dmitry

Hi dmitrys!  So I like both sets of speakers that you have also.
What are you trying to gain in your new speakers and whats your budget?  Are you willing to go used?

Out of the speakers you listed, I would go Kefs, Triangles, and take those polks off the list.
I wouldnt call these new kefs British sound, harbeths yes, kefs no.  The kefs will be very accurate / neutral but open revealing and image well from all over the room.

Not sure about low volumes..

$4-$6k used opens a lot of options..

how big or small rather is your office?  Floorstanders can get big…
I agree though, I like floorstanding as well.
Those Kefs are probably going to play nice in a smaller space.  I really like the uni Q design…
