I don’t really know what "audiophile" means. What I do know is that the LS50 Metas are a very good bang for the buck. If your room’s not too big and if you don’t need high SPLs you will be happy. Add a sub, or better two subs, and you will be very happy. I would take a hard look at the secondary market. KEF sells a lot of speakers and they can often be found on the second hand market.
